Montessori Model United Nations
Each year, our Upper Elementary students take part in Montessori Model UN — the capstone of our peace curriculum and our international identity. Every delegate is assigned a real country and spends months preparing to represent it: researching its history and politics, drafting position papers, and learning to speak for someone else’s perspective on the world stage.
Global Citizenship in practice: our students take the floor of the United Nations.
➡︎ Country representation. Each student researches an assigned country in depth — its history, culture, and political stance on the world stage. This year, we represented Chile and Egypt; last year, Algeria and Angola.
➡︎ Solution-oriented debate. They draft position papers, negotiate with peers, and build consensus to propose viable solutions to current global issues, mirroring actual UN procedures.
➡︎ On the conference floor. Delegates travel to the international MMUN conference, present their resolutions, respond to questions, and vote — following the same procedures as the United Nations itself.
Through MMUN, students practice the skills that matter beyond school: in-depth research, analysis, public speaking, diplomacy, critical thinking, and collaborative leadership.

The MMUN closing ceremony takes place in the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations in New York.
Delegates take the floor in New York or Rome.

Students receive their country and begin months of study.

Our students don’t just learn about the world — they actively engage with it. They return from each conference as more confident, empathetic global citizens, equipped with the understanding and skills to be ambassadors for peace.
